       This is not a toy for very young children but for those young and old who love fairies, it's brilliant. My teen has been having so much fun with this and is getting quite good, as there is a learning curve for some of the moves you see on YouTube. There IS a very thin pixie silk (thread/string) attached to the fairie and clip which the wand uses to make the fairie fly. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase and my daughter is thrilled and all her cousins now want one too. Very clever toy!

I got this for my niece for Christmas. There was only one. The string that makes the fairy dance is so thin a young child could not do it alone. I would not recommend this for something to be used over and over. My niece will probably just play with the fairy without the string.

This "toy" is amazing. First, let me state, that it is not for children to play with. However, it is for their entertainment. I purchased it to show my grandchildren who were visiting. Yes, the "fairy silk" is extremely fine. How else would it look like it's flying? They have a youtube video (search: flitter fairy) that shows exactly how it looks flying and how you get the fairy to work. If you watch the video, you'll want one, just like I did. It has a bit of a learning curve to teach you how to keep the fairy silk in tact, make its flight look realistic, etc. I practiced privately in front of the mirror prior to bringing it out to my grandchildren. The looks on their faces made it well worth the money. My two-year-old granddaughter walked right up to the fairy and said, "Helyo. Grandma, can I bring her home?" Very cute. My grandson held out his hand so the fairy could "land" on him. There is absolutely no point in handing one of these over to a small child to play with, but it's perfect for an adult to entertain children. It's easily as educational as any other pretend play toy, or as fun as magic tricks can be.


I love these flitter fairys and bought 2..I replaced the silk thread with gold shiny thread for I didnt like the texture and it does catch very easy.
Children love being the one who knows a "secret". And the secret of this fairy's flight will delight kids young and old.
